Changing young people’s lives for the better

Our mission

We aim to provide quality education and residential care to young people with learning disabilities and complex needs.

  • "The school goes above and beyond for the young people, they make you feel welcome, your opinion is always valued, and you are always notified of events be it negative or positive. Communication is a strong point in the school and all the teachers aspire for the young people, it's nice to see. What an amazing school and great bunch of people."

    — Parents View, 2022

  • "This calm and peaceful school is located in idyllic setting... pupils enjoy coming to school and show a love for learning. The high expectations and consistent approach of staff mean that pupils behave well. Pupils feel safe at school."

Our promise

We are committed to transforming young people’s lives and experiences, to support them to develop their personal, social and emotional well-being and to guide them in all aspects of their lives. We endeavour to achieve the best outcomes for each and every young person in an individualised and unique way.

“We will walk beside our young people and their families to ensure they feel valued and heard, whilst having the best opportunities to allow them to live their lives in the fullest possible way.”

Kelly Leonard, Chief Executive

 Our People

The senior management team has over 30 years experience working with children and young people within the learning disability and complex needs sector, in line with OFSTED regulations, achieving outstanding provision across Shropshire.

Our staff are dedicated and committed to providing a safe, homely and nurturing environment for the children in our care. We are committed to ensuring extensive training and learning opportunities for all our staff, providing them with the skills and knowledge they need to support young people in every aspect of their care.

Our Schools

Our new residential school is registered with the Department of Education (DFE), OFSTED and is owned by Unique Care Group which is a residential educational childcare company specialising in providing placements for young people with learning disabilities age 11-18 years.

Our young people may have many diagnoses in line with any autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) and co-occurring additional needs including ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety disorder and emotional difficulties.

Our aim is to transform the educational experience and develop the personal, social, academic and vocational skills of our students so that they are prepared for life, further education and employment.

We embrace a 24-hour learning model, where young people are encouraged and supported to learn through their social and emotional interactions, including experiences within the community, in line with their wishes and feelings.

We encourage learning through creative play, sensory integration, communication and fun. We will ensure that all the young people we support within the service have an individual IEP (Individualised Education Program) that is integrated within the curriculum and allows them to have a high level of structure.

Our Homes

Unique Care Group will be opening its second children’s residential home in Shropshire in autumn 2021, providing care for young people aged between 11-18 with learning disabilities and complex needs.

Our aim and objective at Unique Care Group is to provide a safe, warm and nurturing environment with a high standard of accommodation and care for children & young people, whilst ensuring an excellent delivery of service with positive outcomes for young people in all aspects of their lives, fully in line with all OFSTED regulations.
